Deleting a Facebook profile is permanent and cannot be reversed. You will lose all your photos, messages, posts, and everything else associated with that account. Before you delete your profile, you may want to download a copy of your information from Facebook. To do this:
- Click the down arrow at the top right of any Facebook page and select Settings.
- In the left column, click Your Facebook Information.
- In the Download Your Information section, click View.
- If you want to include things like comments or likes made on other people’s posts, check the Include option next to each category. If you’re not sure what something means, hover over the item for a description. When you’ve selected everything you want to download, click Create File.
- Enter your password and click Submit.
- Click Start My Archive.
Once you have downloaded a copy of your information, you are ready to delete your profile:
- Click the down arrow at the top right of any Facebook page and select Settings.
- In the left column, click Your Facebook Information.
- In the Delete Your Account and Information section, click View.
- Enter your password and click Continue.
- Click Delete Account, then click Continue to Account Deletion.
- Click Delete my account.
How do I delete a Facebook page?
To delete your Facebook Page, you will need to be an admin of that Page. If you’re not an admin, you’ll need to ask an admin to remove you as a person before you can delete the Page.
If you are an admin:
- Click About on the left side of your Page.
- Click Edit next to your Page’s name.
- Click Delete [Page name].
- Click Delete Page and then click OK.
How do I know if my Facebook page is deleted?
Your Page won’t appear in search results anymore and people will no longer be able to like or follow your Page. However, if you have any apps connected to your Page, those apps will remain active.
For example, if your Page was connected to an Instagram account, your Instagram ads will still run and people will be able to access your website via any links you’ve provided on your Page.
What happens to my information if I delete my Facebook page?
Deleting your Page permanently removes it from Facebook, including anything you’ve posted or uploaded to that Page. Information that isn’t stored on your Page, such as contacts and check-ins, won’t be deleted when you delete your Page.
Can I undelete my Facebook page?
Yes. If you change your mind after deleting your Page, you have 14 days to restore it. After 14 days, your Page will be permanently deleted and you won’t be able to get it back. To restore your Page:
- Go to facebook.com/pages/manage.
- Click Pages in the left menu of your setting.
- Hover over the trash can next to the Page you want to restore and click Restore.
How do I permanently delete my Facebook account?
If you don’t think you’ll use Facebook again and would like your account permanently deleted, we suggest first downloading a copy of your info from Facebook.
